Stand back and view God’s vast panorama,
Time’s place in Eternity, its formation and drama,
The position Time holds, before and hereafter,
Culminates when Jesus comes at the Rapture.
God in Eternity past produced Time,
A world He created in beauty sublime,
Reflecting the Glory surrounding His throne,
With angels in worship of Him and Him alone.
This span of time He created with beginning and end.
But an angel, named Lucifer, thought God He’d transcend.
God threw him out of heaven and brought him to the dust,
The earth God had created was ruined by his lust.
“Without form and void!” – What a tragedy to see!
But the Spirit of God moved on the waters of this dark sea,
God said, “Let there be light!” and He made the light to shine,
With Day and Night – a new beginning for the whole of Time.
God said., “Let the earth bring forth grass and herbs and trees,
The sun, the moon, the stars, the seasons, days and years,
The fish, the fowl, and every living creature
The cattle, the beasts and creeping things, – they all would herein feature.
And finally, – in His image, after His likeness, He made man,
Male and female, to have dominion over all His eye could scan,
With every green herb, and seeds and fruit of the trees for meat,
“All this I have given to make your stay on Earth complete.”
Time fits into a slot within God’s vast Eternity,
Eternity’s before Time began and after Time shall cease,
We all are given a portion of Time to worship our great Creator,
And we all must make a choice within Time, be it sooner or be it later.
The time of our birth, the time of our death, our beginning and after we know not,
Only God knows our placement in Time, and how much time left we have got,
We cannot choose when to be born, and we cannot choose when we shall die,
We could not choose what part of Time to live in, by and by.
From Adam and Eve, over centuries past, we could have lived and died,
We can get lost in speculation, but from God we cannot hide,
Time like a river flows on and on through the banks of our lifetime’s course,
And none can stop this incessant stream once it has left its source.
The picture grows bigger as backward we step,
Myriads upon myriads have lived and then slept,
Their time on earth’s over, Eternity’s come,
And they are now facing God and His Son.
Eternity’s been planted in the heart of everyone,
Time’s over for all those that have been and now are gone,
Eternity is the future for the penitent and the proud,
None in the past or the future can escape, and God’s will flout.
Time will soon be gone, and then will be no more,
Eternity at the end of Time will be the open door,
Those that have repented and found Christ for their soul,
Will leave behind the trials of Time, and in Him be made whole.
The wonders of Eternity will await all the Redeemed,
The past will no more be remembered, just like a passing dream,
Time will be forgotten, never to be repeated again,
With the King of kings and Lord of lords. for ever we’ll remain.
