“Why doesn’t God…?” is the cry of the multitude.

“Why doesn’t God…?” is the cry we all share.

“Why doesn’t God save the starving nations,

Why does God let them all die in despair?”

Why does God let the Hitlers and Stalins

So cruelly torture and murder the millions?

Why does God let the paedophiles ruin

The lives of so many innocent little ones?

Why did God let my wife die so young?

Why doesn’t God give me a daughter, a son?

Why am I left disabled and shunned,

Crippled and lonely, feeling condemned?

Why has God made me so ugly?

Why has God left me deformed?

Why doesn’t God stop the wars in the world,

Tsunamis, earthquakes and storms?

Why does God let men abuse little kids,

Some murdered before they are born?

Why are some born in palaces of wealth

And others in ghettos of porn?

Life’s so unjust at times, so it seems,

These questions unanswered remain,

But God on His throne, yesterday and today

And forever, remains the same.

The Bible, God’s Word, withstands the test of time,

Outlasting heavens and earth,

That engrafted Word can save a man’s soul

And give the dead a new birth.

The Word of God shall be our judge

When we come to the end of time.

God’s Word is truth and truth is the standard

To which our lives are aligned.

“Thou shalt have no other gods before Me,”

Was the Word of the first commandment,

And every sin comes from breaking this law

And leads to man’s final judgment.

The world in its turmoil has worshipped false gods

And brought consequences extreme,

God’s given man choice, he chooses a lie,

God cannot in truth intervene.

Yet the world God so loved that He gave His Own Son,

Not willing that any should perish,

If man will repent and believe in God’s Son,

God will His judgment relinquish.

Then God’s Word takes on a reasoning new,

The questions no longer have meaning,

God’s Word says all things for good work together

To those who love Him, believing.

“Why doesn’t God…? No longer’s the cry

For those who love Him and trust Him,

They see a Father who let His Son die

To rescue the millions who serve Him.

They’ve learned of a God who is no man’s debtor,

Whose judgments are righteous and just,

Who will give to the cripple a body like His,

A glorious body, august!

And for the children who die premature,

A place He has prepared:

“Suffer little children to come unto Me –

Forbid them not!” He declared.

Life’s tragedies take on a different hue,

Viewed from eternity’s stance,

Death and the grave lose their bitter sting

In Eternity’s great expanse.

“Exceedingly, abundantly, far above all

You can ever ask or think”

God’s promised for those who love Him and trust,

We’ll be changed in a moment – in a blink!

The starving shall feed on the fat of the land,

The cripple shall dance and run,

The blind shall see, the prisoner be free

And the childless have many a son.

The abused child find comfort and love full and free,

The lonely, company and friends,

The dumb shall rejoice and the deaf shall hear,

The aborted – a world without end.

The tortured find healing, the murdered find life,

The ugly a beautiful form,

All wars shall cease, the poor shall be rich

And tempest and storms be no more.

Every tear shall be dried, there’ll be no more pain,

Life’s torments remembered no more,

The present sufferings can’t compare

With the glory that God has in store.

So, there’s grace to bear our afflictions and trials

With a view of a day that’s before,

If we love the Lord with all our heart,

Each day’s a day nearer that shore!
