Where is the man that enlisted?

Where is the woman God called?

Where is the one that once said they’d serve

And give their life to the Lord?

Why have they left their commitment?

God needs an answer today.

What have they achieved that will stand the test

Of trial by fire in that day?

If it’s wood, hay and stubble, ‘twill, perish and burn,

Only jewels and gold will survive,

The pleasures of earth and material wealth

Will one day be left far behind?

O turn from your sin, O foolish one!

‘Twill only land you in hell,

Your money, your pleasure, your goods and your friends

Cannot save your soul, you know well.

You know, you’ve an ache deep within your being

That cannot be satisfied

With all that you now surround yourself with,

There’s an emptiness deep there inside.

You once were a soldier of the Cross,

You absconded and left your commission,

But God calls you back to turn and repent

And find for your sins His remission.

He’s a merciful God for those who repent,

He’ll restore years the locust has eaten,

But those who withstand Him will find His wrath vent,

For them there is no remission.

He called you for saving the millions

Of lost souls bound for hell,

He needed to prepare His troops

And this you knew full well.

But rather you preferred your sin,

And on that day, you’ll stand

With the blood of countless hell-bound souls

Dripping from your hands.

You chose to live a selfish life

Rather than serve your King,

But you’re more answerable than most:

In God’s eyes, this is sin.

Some never knew the way of salvation

But you, you surely did!

And do you think God will forget?

Yourself, you only kid!

You’ve trampled underfoot the Blood

Of God’s Only Begotten Son:

To know to do good and to do it not,

Is sin! This is where you’ve come:

Unlike the sinner who’s never heard

The Gospel of Salvation,

You’ve known the truth, you bowed your knee

And vowed you would serve at your station.

You repented that day of the sins of your life,

But now you’ve turned back to your sin:

You crucify God’s Son afresh,

How can He forgive you again?

“O turn ye! O turn ye! For why will ye die?”

The cry of a God Whose judgement is nigh!

How shall we escape if we now neglect

So great a salvation? Pause and reflect!

Now is the day of salvation,

Tomorrow may be too late,

A place of repentance some never find

Like Esau of old in his fate.

We cannot take God for granted,

His judgement we cannot escape,

But God may have mercy if we seek His face

And repent before it’s too late.

A generation of lost souls

Awaits the people of God,

Many are called, but few are chosen.

To rescue this perishing flood.

So awake! O soldier of Christ!

The wasted years Time’s eaten,

God can restore if you will repent,

The next chapter is soon to be written!
